American Camera and Social Media Company Snap Inc. shares advanced 2.04% to $67.57 Tuesday. This proved to be an all-around favorable trading session for the stock market, with the NASDAQ Composite Index COMP rising 0.19% to 14,528.33 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA rising 0.03% to 34,292.29.
Snap Inc. closed $6.02 short of its 52-week high ($73.59), which the company reached on February 24th. The stock outperformed some of its competitors Tuesday, as Apple Inc. AAPL rose 1.15% to $136.33, Twitter Inc. TWTR rose 1.04% to $69.00, and Facebook Inc. Cl A FB fell 1.05% to $351.89.
Snap Inc Trading volume (10.1 M) remained 11.0 million below its 50-day average volume of 21.1 M.Rakuten Viber reached a partnership with Snap Inc. to bring augmented reality lenses from Snapchat to its Viber calling and messaging application. Viber will use Snap developer tools including Bitmoji, Camera Kit and Creative Kit to integrate AR lenses and bring customizable Bitmoji avatars to the app.
The 30 Viber Lenses Powered by Snap will bring AR-enabled video messaging and photos to Viber for the first time, with choices including animal masks, silly cat interactions, an underwater lens and Viber characters. The first Viber partners to offer new lenses on the app include FC Barcelona, the World Health Organization and the World Wildlife Fund. Rakuten Viber said it plans to add roughly 50 to 70 lenses each month and reach at least 300 by year-end. The Android beta and iOS versions of the Viber app with the new features is available starting Wednesday
